Back-to-School Year Info

NLP FAQs:

How does arrival work?
Students can begin to enter the school at 8:15am.  All students will enter through the front doors of the school.  Please note there is no adult supervision for students before 8:15 am unless your child is enrolled in the YMCA before school program.  If you are dropping your child off by car, please use the car loop to drop off your child.  Do not use the bus loop area to drop off your children as there is no supervision in this area.

How does dismissal work?
CAR RIDERS:

Students that are car riders will be dismissed from the front of the school.  If your child is a car rider you must be in your car to pick them up.  Please do not park and walk up to the porch area.  Please be sure to have your car rider tag displayed.
WALKERS:
Students that are walkers are dismissed from the courtyard area between the main building and the wing.   Students in grades 2 through 5 dismiss at the bell.  K and 1 students must be picked up at the gate with a transportation tag.

What are the school colors and mascot?
School colors are burgundy and hunter green.  The school mascot is the buck due to the many free roaming deer found in the NorthLake Park community.

How can I get involved with the PTA?
NLP has an amazing PTA and you can get information by visiting their website at www.northlakeparkpta.org or “Northlake Park Community School PTA” on Facebook.

Is NLP a one-to-one device school/digital school?
Yes.  Beginning the 2020-2021 school year, we have become a digital school.  This means that while at school each student will have an assigned device to use while in the classroom.  These devices will be used to “enhance” teacher instruction not replace it.  Kindergarten and 1st grade students will use iPads while 2nd – 5th grade students will use laptops.

How does paying for lunch or breakfast work?
School breakfast/lunch may be paid for by depositing funds in your child’s account at School Pay.  Free and reduced price meals may be available to you by applying at My School Apps.

Who do I call when I need assistance?
To be updated before school starts. Check back later for this information.
